Description

Invite old-master drama into your home with Abraham Bloemaert's drawing dated 1592. The sheet shows Mars and Venus tightly entwined beneath a billowing canopy, surrounded by playful cupids and a fallen shield bearing a gorgon's head, rendered in warm brown ink and delicate white highlights on toned paper. The sinuous figures and concentrated, theatrical arrangement give the scene a sensuous, energetic presence.

Perfect for a study, gallery wall, or as a thoughtful gift for lovers of classical myth and Old Master drawings.
