Description

Bring a dramatic piece of fin-de-siècle poster art to your walls with Henri Privat-Livemont’s 1897 vintage announcement. The image depicts a confrontational nighttime scene — a man driving an axe toward a woman with flowing hair, fallen figures in the background, and a vertical decorative panel of masks and skulls that echoes the poster's violent message. The bold, stylised type and muted, tinctured palette are typical of late nineteenth-century political posters.

Perfect for a study, gallery wall, or as a striking conversation piece for history and poster-art collectors.
