Poster

Bring a striking piece of late-19th-century poster art to your walls with this vintage charity poster by Jules Chéret, dated 1897. The design centres on an elderly woman holding a young child at the water’s edge while a small rescue boat, a sailing craft and a team of men labor against the surf in the background; bold black outlines and muted blues, ochres and terracotta give the scene a grave, urgent feeling.

Perfect for coastal cottages, studies, charitable organisations, and as a gift for collectors of vintage posters and maritime ephemera.
